Mim’s genealogical research becomes a wormhole through which eight long-dead women reconstitute themselves. They are joined by a prehistoric entity conjured through the National Geographic Genographic Project.
The ephemeral women disrupt Mim’s life and perceived sanity as together they wander their respective histories and the caves of northern Spain. Leaping across 12,000 years, they land in their own depths and glimpse the seamless nature of time and existence.
Back in 21st century Loveland, Colorado, Mim’s friend Ellen frantically protests these improbable adventures.
In the end, all of the women are transformed.
Blending fact and supposition, humor and mysticism, Family Time – a Genealogical Memoir wanders through individual histories and winds up glimpsing the universal.
